Divine Masters
One of the ways to really accelerate your success is to accelerate your learning.
There are many different ways we can learn, none of which are mutually exclusive. We can learn by assimilation of ideas from books and audio. We can learn through great experiences. And, we can also learn by observing others.
The concept of learning through observation is core to the master/apprentice form of learning. In this form of learning, the apprentice learns by observing the master at work. This form of learning is hundreds of years old and has its roots in cultures around the world. Although this form of learning continues to be used in this country, our society seems to have developed a greater preference for experiential learning, where we learn by doing.
Dr. Wayne Dyer uses the phrase "Divine Masters" to describe individuals who come into our lives and provide an opportunity for us to learn by observing their actions. The descriptor "divine" arises from the fact that these individuals can come into our lives as if almost by chance, or by some divine intervention for those who believe that what occurs in life is other than by chance. The word "master" refers to the learning concept, not any kind of possessive form of ownership.
Divine Masters come in a wide variety of shapes and forms. Some demonstrate the "right" way to do things. Some provide powerful demonstrations of how not to live our life. Some appear before us for fleeting moments (as with the crazed driver weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds endangering not only him or herself, but many other people). Some come into our lives for extended periods of times.

One of the ways to position yourself for making a Quantum Leap, or a series of Quantum Leaps, is to recognize all who cross your path as potential Divine Masters. If you can set aside the judgmental nature that resides in almost all of us, you will quickly see that Divine Masters come in many different physical forms - many of them in forms that are unlike our own.
Not only must you be able to see other individuals as Divine Masters, but you must be able to able to "hear" the lessons of these influencers. To do so, you must also set aside your preconceived notions of what is right and wrong. Just be. Observe, and then weave the lessons into your tapestry of a philosophy of life.
Observing what Dr. Dyer calls a "petty tyrant?" Then, see it as an opportunity to reinforce your desire to be unlike this person. See someone weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds? Instead of focusing on the person as a "jerk" use the instant experience as an opportunity to re-emphasize the importance of your own safe and courteous driving.
Observing someone doing good? You can use this as an opportunity to reinforce your beliefs as to the way you want to live your life.
Although we can learn from all, successful people understand the importance of surrounding themselves with people sharing the philosophies and qualities most like what they desire to be. Want more success in business? Surround yourself with successful business people. Want a deeper spiritual commitment? Surround yourself with highly spiritual people. Want more peace and harmony? Surround yourself with this who live in peace and harmony.
From this moment on, commit to seeing others as Divine Masters who can help to ready you for your Quantum Leap.
